Taawon takes part in the Clinton Global Initiative

Represented by General Director, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, Taawon took part in this year’s CGI meetings in New York. Dr. Jarbawi attended several sessions focusing on global developmental and aid issues, as well as, networking with similar organization from all around the world.

In addition, she met with several heads of international NGOs and corporations aiming to expand Taawon’s network and open up new cooperation horizons.

Last year, Taawon announced that it would be making a Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment to Action with the aim of boosting youth employment levels in Palestine and Tunisia.

The three year program with a total investment of $7.3 million is expand the existing Youth Employment Services (YES) program in Palestine. YES — which helps students looking to work in tech, trade, finance, or the public sector, among other areas. Additionally, Taawon will harness its YES program for other Arab youth in the region by replicating the YES model in Tunisia in order to provide 1,000 Tunisian youth with six-month internships.
